Ani is a first-year M.S.Ed for the School of Education, working towards her mental health counseling degree. She earned her undergraduate degree at Indiana University in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Counseling, earning her place on the Dean’s list every semester.
During her undergraduate career, she fostered an interest in research, where she then worked under Dr. Amanda Diekman in her STEM Social Psychology Lab. There, she was able to conduct a research project of her own through the support of the lab about how people perceive handwriting in terms of warmth and competence. This furthered her enjoyment for research, and taught her a lot about the process, from study design to poster presentation.
Ani’s current research interests span family dynamics and couples. More specifically, she enjoys exploring attachment theory as well as aspects of the relationship between parents and children. She also has an interest in intimate relationships.
Her long-term goal is to get into a PhD. Program after her time in her master’s degree to further her education in these fields to be able to provide educational but warm and empathetic counseling to families, adolescents, and couples. Ani also hopes to get opportunities to continue research and teach others.
